He stated that this wave of displeasure has erupted after the zoning arrangement made by the party for the 10th National Assembly. If you would recall that the North Central was sidelined in the zoning arrangement.
The APC Chieftain argued that candidates cannot be imposed on the 10th Assembly because the legislature is an independent body. He further more stated that going by the situation of the party, APC lacked the majority in the house and so the opposition with aggrieved APC members could collude with the opposition parties and override the ruling party. He alleged that the APC should avoid the situation of losing control of power. The President-elect is currently out of the country on visiting working days while the APC Chairman still maintained that they are still consulting.
He said, ”It is an offense to say we didn’t make a mistake with the zoning of the NASS. We have to accept our fault and have a review. If we don’t, people have already told us they will do what happened in 2015.
Many Northerners are already saying they will work against Tinubu in the 2027 election, so the President-elect needs to act fast. We don’t have the majority power in the house, the other parties are more than us in the House of Reps.
If they come together with aggrieved APC members of the House of Reps, they will have their will. So the President-elect and the leadership of the APC have to be very careful”
