Members of the Nigeria Police Force have been asked by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) to perform their duties and obligations with excellence during the current statewide protests. In a statement that the union titled, “Stop This Massacre” and shared on it official X handle on Saturday, NLC said if the police persist in the slaughter of the protesters, it will be left with no choice than to protect the citizens.
NLC said the decision to bring the protest to an end lies in the hand of the federal government.
Part of the statement says;
“However, if the police in self-righteousness consider this advice as meddlesomeness and persist in their slaughter, they will be unwittingly creating a situation they were supposed to help avert in the first place. And we as members of organized labour will be left with no choice than the moral burden to act in protection of ordinary citizens. Finally, we do believe the ultimate solution lies with government, the decisions it takes, the compromises it is willing to make in the face of the genuine demands by the protesters”.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
