Chidinma Adetshina who represented Taraba State was crowned Miss Universe Nigeria 2024 weeks after she was forced to leave the South Africa contest after the South African Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture, Gaston McKenzie, opposed her participation due to her Nigerian-Mozambican parentage.
Having won the Miss Universe Nigeria 2024 on Saturday, Nigerians have taken to social media to react, as some have congratulated her, saying they hope her winning was not to prove a point to South Africa, while some have said it is so wrong, saying what will other girls be thinking.
