Nollywood stars have said a word of prayer for their colleague, Ruby Ojiakor as she officially joins the married club.
Kemi Filani reported last week that Ruby had announced her engagement to Moc Madu. The movie star, via her Instagram page, shared a video of her proposal as she announced that she said Yes to the love of her life. Expressing gratitude to her Maker, she dedicated her engagement to Him.
On Saturday, February 1st, 2025, the actress and her husband traditionally tied the knot at her hometown. In one video, Ruby was seen surrounded by her beautiful bridesmaids. In another, the happy bride was captured showing off her traditional dancing steps.
The highlight of the ceremony was when she pulled off her heels to hail her husband. In the viral video, the actress went on her kneels as she praised her Odogwu husband.
Taking to their Instagram page, many of her colleagues rained prayers on her and her new home.
Mercy Johnson wrote, “Congratulations darling @ruby_ojiakor. May peace always reign in your home. Love And Light as always. May you always be happy”.
Chizzy Alichi wrote, “This happiness will last forever. Congratulations once again, my darling and ever cheerful Ruby @ruby_ojiakor. Your home is blessed, and your joy will remain permanent, Amen”.

Following her engagement, Ruby credited her Maker for her new blessings as she poured praises on her man, describing him as a God-fearing Odogwu, her world, the only man who understands her perfectly, her intentional Odogwu, and her forever baby.
In a later post, Ruby had penned an appreciation post to the public over the massive love they showed her and her husband-to-be. She stated that they have been left humbled by the love they received.
Some years back, Ruby had recalled the reasons she was single and unmarried. The single mother of one said she had once lost a relationship because of her job as an actress. She claimed her partner’s mother wasn’t comfortable with her career and had demanded she stop acting if she wanted to get married to her son, which she refused.
In other news, back in 2023, Ruby had clashed with her now-late colleague, Junior Pope, for praising herself on Father’s Day. Junior Pope had tackled her for celebrating herself, which didn’t sit well with Ruby, who questioned why he would challenge her role as a father in her daughter’s life.
Weighing into it, her colleague, Ruth Eze reprimanded Junior Pope for berating Ruby in public, especially since they are besties. She demanded he apologize to Ruby, which he eventually did, as the two settled their scores.
