Erik ten Hag’s team was completely outclassed by a Tottenham Hotspur side that controlled the game from the outset, with the Red Devils’ midfield and defense being run through like a red-hot knife through butter. ten Hag had thought it prudent to stick with the same formation from the Wolverhampton Wanderers match.
While some players, like Andre Onana, had such an admirable performance, the remaining 10 Manchester United players on the field appeared to have no idea what they were doing at all.
Erik ten Hag will have to make due with the resources at his disposal right away and get started because the Red Devils still have a few acquisitions to make before the transfer season closes next month.
The Red Devils’ remaining six Premier League games already have an ominous aspect to them, and given their current dismal away record, things could become even worse for them if they don’t soon come together and attempt to produce more encouraging results moving forward.
