MACBAN: “If the Military Fails to Apologize and Return Our Money, We Will Seek Legal Redress”

 

According to THE SUN, the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) has strongly objected to a recent military raid on its Lafia, Nasarawa State, headquarters. The raid resulted in the arrest of several members and the confiscation of valuables, including cash worth over a million naira.The state chairman of MACBAN, Alhaji Bala Mohammed Dabo, made this known during a press briefing on Wednesday.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

Alhaji Bala explained that military personnel stormed the association’s office, cordoned off the area, and proceeded with arrests and the seizure of property.

He added that the head of the military special forces in Doma later admitted the raid was due to faulty intelligence.

The military had been tracking a suspect whose signal mistakenly led them to MACBAN’s office, but further investigations revealed it was an error.

Alhaji Bala expressed the association’s dissatisfaction with the incident, stating that, “We cannot tolerate such acts of embarrassment. If the military fails to apologize and return our money, we will seek legal redress.”

He also mentioned that the Nasarawa State government, the state police commissioner, and MACBAN’s national secretariat had been informed of the situation. Alhaji Bala stressed the importance of addressing the issue to prevent future occurrences.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
