Just in: Some APC governors warned Presidential-Elect Tinubu not to meddle in Senate affairs during their meeting on ThursdayAccording to a news that was published by the Daily Trust Newspaper online this morning,it was reported that some governors are already mobilising against the plans by the president-elect, Chief Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to make the former governor of Akwa Ibom State, Senator Godswill Akpabio, the Senate president. It was reported that a source, who spoke under the condition of anonymity and who is also close to some of the governors at the Thursday and Friday meetings, told Daily Trust reporter that, some governors who were part of the meetings, advised the president-elect not to dabble into the politics of the National Assembly at all, so as not to cause trouble for his administration.

The source claimed that those in this school of thought, believed Tinubu should not anoint a candidate but, he should allow the best candidate to emerge as the Senate President. Continue Your Reading>>>

The source said, “During Thursday meeting, some APC governors told Tinubu not to dabble into affairs of Senate. That was the advise they gave him and they stood their ground that, zoning of the preferred candidacy is out of place, so they advised Bola Tinubu to let the National Assembly members, and particularly, the senators to sort themselves out.”

Further talking, he said Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, also agreed that he would not dabble into the politics of the National Assembly beyond reasonable limit, but, he appealed to the governors to work in synergy with the National leadership of the All Progressives Congress, inorder to put things in proper shape, regarding the choice of principal officers of the National Assembly.
