JUST-IN: President Tinubu Appoints Another PDP Member Into His Cabinet

Tinubu 'blames' the Chicago varsity clerk for the credentials' problems.

In what can be described as a demonstration of inclusivity and a bridge-building gesture across party lines, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has made another surprising appointment. Coming just weeks after appointing PDP’s Wike as the Minister of FCT, Tinubu has now brought in Victor Kolade Akinjo, another notable member of the PDP, into his administration. Victor Kolade Akinjo, a PDP stalwart, has been appointed by President Tinubu as a board member of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) representing Ondo state. Akinjo is no stranger to the corridors of power; he previously held the position of the House of Representatives Member for Ilaje/Ese-Odo Federal Constituency between 2015 and 2023. However, his bid for a third term was thwarted when he was defeated by APC’s Ojogo.

This series of appointments underscores President Tinubu’s commitment to fostering national unity and bridging the partisan divide. Apart from Wike and Akinjo, it’s noteworthy that Tinubu has also appointed Adebayo Adelabu from the Accord Party and Tahir Mamman, a close ally of Peter Obi’s running mate, as the Minister of Education.
