Shehu Sani went on to say that since 1999, there has never been a success story in Nigeria’s power sector, and that successive governments have continued to perpetrate that scam. He continued by saying that despite spending $25 billion over a period of 23 years, nothing had been accomplished.
This information was revealed by Senator Shehu Sani in a tweet he posted on his verified Twitter account on Saturday afternoon. He said that South Africa currently has 58,095MW while our electricity generation capacity is still 4,753 MW.
It should be remembered that Olusegun Obasanjo, the former president of Nigeria, spent billions of dollars into the power sector throughout his presidency from 1999 to 2007, yet nothing was accomplished.
