Israeli airstrike hits Palestinian target in Damascus

Israel on Thursday launched an airstrike on a building in Damascus, according to Syrian state media.

It is understood that the attack targeted an area known to house Palestinian leaders, killing at least one person.

The UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights confirmed that Israeli aircraft fired two missiles at the site.

However, the identity of the casualties remains unclear.

Syria’s state-run SANA news agency also confirmed the strike but provided no further details.

While Israel has not officially commented, the country has conducted numerous air raids on Syria in recent years, often claiming to target Iranian-backed militias and Hezbollah operatives.

Damascus, in turn, has repeatedly condemned these strikes as violations of its sovereignty.
