Governor Fubara speaking about the impeachment plot against him said in an interview with AIT, ”My burden at that time was not the drama, it’s the millions of Rivers people that have made sacrifice. Who are seeing opportunity and it looks as if their hopes have been dashed. Those are the ones I was worried about. What would be their fate? That was my trouble, it’s not about me.
He went further to clarify that his agreement to the resolution of President Bola Tinubu was not born out of her but for the interest of the state, ”If leaving this position is what I need to bring peace to the state, I can even tell you to come and take it. People should understand that I’m here but I will definitely go. But Rivers state will still remain. I’m the governor and there are things I could have done anda there would have been total crisis.
