Some Nigerians still feel that the 2023 presidential election was not free and fair, and the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal (PEPT) is still contesting the election that saw Bola Ahmed Tinubu elected president. During a discussion with Emerge Television, Ayo Adebanjo, the chairman of the most powerful Yoruba social and cultural group, Afenifere, stated that he disagrees with how Bola Ahmed Tinubu became the leader of Nigeria.
He went on to say that President Tinubu would have had his support if he had won in a fair election and that the 2023 presidential election was neither free nor fair. He argued that Tinubu can lead the country, but he also said that everything built with the wrong pillars will fall. I’m one of many who disagrees with Tinubu’s plan for reaching his objectives. I assisted God in making him the legislative leader of Lagos State, so if the political decision had been taken in a fair and impartial manner, I would have been ecstatic. Despite the fact that he is a brilliant individual, I would not have picked him to represent me because I don’t trust political judgments that aren’t free and fair.
