Nollywood actress Shirley Igwe has spoken candidly about her intentions to join the ranks of her colleagues who are already heavily involved in Nigerian politics.
Remember how top Nollywood stars, Tonto Dikeh and Funke Akindele were lambasted for entering politics despite having broken marriages?
In Lagos State, Akindele is the Peoples Democratic Party’s nominee for deputy governor; in Rivers State, Dikeh is the African Democratic Party’s nominee for deputy governor.
In response to a query on whether she has any current or future plans to run for political office during an interview with Punch, Shirley Igwe said;
“Sure, why not? If my husband allows me (I will run for political office). We both have to come to a mutual understanding on the matter”.
In other news, a teen girl asked for help after her father rejected her boyfriend’s marriage proposal when she was 17 years old.
She claims that she is incredibly in love with her boyfriend and desires marriage with him due to the fact that he will soon pass away.
According to her, the young man has been very supportive of her mum financially and wants because he knows he will die very young, he wants to have a child with her.
She wrote: “Am 17 years old and my boyfriend want to marry me. My daddy is rejecting, my mommy is accepting. I owe my boyfriend so so much.
My boyfriend is 19 and beg me to marry and born for him cos by Destiny he will die young but i don’t tell my parents this. My boyfriend have support my mommy so much in business with hooge money. I love him.
I want advise on how make my daddy accept something on my head. My boyfriend has 2 benz we are building now.”
