Speaking Yoruba, one of the demonstrators said: “Ikorudu won the election hands down. Why didn’t they offer the canvasser money when he saw that Ikorodu had the most votes?
“Ikorodu doesn’t have any effective leaders. We won’t cast our votes in Ikorodu, and the canvasser won’t show up until we show him our money.
“The canvasser won’t canvass if we can’t see our money. He will remain indoors, we will not vote. That is it, we must see our money.”
This comes one week to the governorship election.
