Atedo Peterside, the president and founder of the Anap Foundation, has stated that he will join the Labour Party (LP) to protest in a peaceful manner if the court rules that their proof of suspected results manipulation is irrelevant.
He advised the Labour Party not to organize a protest in response to the election results while they are getting ready for the court case during an interview on Arise TV. He also said that if the court doesn’t take an interest in their testimony, they might afterwards peacefully protest in the streets.
He continued by saying that the amount of faith that Nigerians have in the legal system shouldn’t change and that they ought to be given a chance to carry out their duties. “This is not the time for protest. I’m a strict person, so I’ll advise them to follow all the procedures. Bring this evidence before the judge so they can decide if it is relevant or not. I might join you on the streets then, but not right now. The workers need time to do their tasks.”
