President Bola Tinubu has expressed his condolences once more for the deaths of the seventeen Nigerian soldiers who were slain in the Okuama town, adding that some of their spouses are expecting. In response to terrorist threats, he affirmed the unwavering fortitude of the Nigerian people. He stressed that even when sensitive sites were targeted, as was the case with the recent kidnapping of children from a Kuriga school, the nation’s commitment to combat crime would not be weakened by such actions. Furthermore, he urged religious leaders to refrain from condemning the nation in their sermons, recognizing their influential role in shaping public perception and sentiment. Encouraging prayers for the nation’s well-being and the education of future generations, he underscored the importance of fostering a sense of national unity and pride among congregants.

He said in a live coverage by Channels TV, ”No terrorist can defeat our spirit. No matter how bad they target the soft targets, you know going to the backyard of a school in Kuriga and evacuating some children. And giving the wrong figures, it doesn’t defeat us. We are together and resolute to defeat them. Yesterday I was at the funeral of the 17 heroes of Nigeria and some of their wives are pregnant. It is so sad.”

He implored the Religious rulers not to condemn the nation in their sermons, he said, ”The love of the nation is in your hand and the prayer is in your mind.
