I Am Saddened About Tragic Killing Of Inspector Akor Onu. He Was A Good Policeman – According to Monday Okpebholo

 

Senator Monday Okpebholo, the APC’s candidate for governor of Edo in 2024, has demanded justice for his police orderly, Inspector Akor Onu, who was slain in Benin City by alleged political thugs.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

According to the report by Daily Trust on Friday, the incident occurred when the convoy of Philip Shaibu, the impeached but reinstated deputy governor, came under gun attack.

Shaibu was accompanied by Okpebholo when the assailants struck, killing the policeman in their convoy.

In his reaction, Okpebholo expressed his condolences and empathy for the injured members of his convoy receiving treatment in various hospitals in Benin City.

In a statement that was signed by his legislative aide on media and communication, Godswill Inegbe, Okpebholo said that he was saddened by the death of the police officer.

He described Inspector Onu as a good policeman and one of the finest in the Nigeria Police Force.

He stressed their 12-year friendship, which developed due to Onu’s exceptional commitment and effective policing.

In addition to that, Okpebholo vowed not to rest until the perpetrators of the attack are brought to justice.

He said, “I am saddened and heartbroken about the tragic killing of Inspector Akor Onu. He was a good policeman, one of the finest in the Nigeria police force.

“Inspector Onu was unreservedly committed to his assigned duty, and due to his exceptional commitment and effective policing we became friends for over 12 years.”
