Governor Wike continued by revealing that he encountered opposition from prominent Igbos in the PDP, including Ekweremadu, Umahi, and Ayim.
Nonetheless, he expressed dismay that despite all of his labor on behalf of Peter Obi, the latter continued to accuse him of conspiring against him during the recently held elections.
“When I chose Peter Obi as Atiku’s VP, Ekweremadu, Umahi and Ayim asked me why I chose for Igbos. But I take exemption to Peter Obi’s comment that I came out against him, people are not being sincere and appreciative. How can you talk about me rigging the election? I don’t work as ad-hoc staff for Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, so I am not in the place to rig elections for anybody. When you have INEC’s materials, you can talk about rigging.
