The incident, shared in a viral post on X (formerly Twitter), was brought to public attention by user @Liltuffsb.
The post revealed that the man, whose photo was attached, filled his tank at a filling station in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, and drove off, leaving an elderly fuel attendant in debt and distress.
According to the CCTV footage, the suspect’s face and vehicle details were captured.
He was driving a Honda Accord, commonly known as “End of Discussion,” with the plate number GGE576DY. The footage also showed the man opening the station’s gate wider during the transaction to facilitate his escape.
The post read: “A customer came to fill up his tank and zoomed off without paying. He stole 59.20 liters (₦58,548.4).”
“The old man who sold the fuel to him is now in debt and has been in tears since the incident occurred on January 3, 2025. We have CCTV footage of the entire event.”
It continued: “The incident happened in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State. He drives a Honda Accord (‘End of Discussion’) with plate number GGE576DY. Please help catch this criminal and raise awareness. Thank you.”
