Despite having no less than seven defenders on the field by the time the game ended, Arsenal clung on heroically and earned all three points for the second game in a row to open the Premier League season.

At the conclusion of matchday two, Palace is in 11th place after a 1-0 win and a 1-0 loss in their first matches of the year, respectively. The Eagles will travel to Brentford for another London derby on the following weekend.

With their second victory, Arsenal moves to the top of the table alongside Manchester City and Brighton as the only three teams with perfect records after two games.

The Gunners will play Fulham at home in their upcoming match, a London derby, and Arteta’s team is hopeful the tenacity displayed in this game can help them make it three wins in a row.
