Oghenefejiro’s father, Ochuko Regha, who holds a senior position in the Ministry of Finance, Delta State, expressed profound grief over the death of his daughter, whom he affectionately called ‘Sugar girl.’
He recounted that she had fallen victim to the evil intentions of her boyfriend, who was identified as Ochionogor Victor.
In an emotional statement to the press in Asaba, Regha recounted the harrowing details of how his daughter died, as he revealed that his attempts to contact his daughter went unanswered on that fateful Monday.
Due to this, he grew increasingly concerned when his WhatsApp messages remained undelivered, as he went on to narrate that the assailant, Victor, employed knives and other objects to end his daughter’s life in his own room, leaving her lifeless body in a pool of her own blood with her eyes open.
Regha continued, stating that despite the efforts of a neighbor who had heard Oghenefejiro’s cries and attempted to help, the entrance to the room had been securely locked by the perpetrator, as local vigilantes were later called upon to forcibly open the door, but tragically, Oghenefejiro had already succumbed to her injuries.
He said, “At about 11:45a.m. on Monday morning, I called my daughter twice, and there was no response. I later sent her WhatsApp messages, but they weren’t delivered till her last breath. When he was killing her, a man heard her crying but he threatened the man. He threatened the only man left in the compound, who heard my daughter’s cry.
It was this man that alerted local vigilantes who came and broke the keys, but my daughter had died before help could reach her.” CONTINUE READING>>>>>
