Arsenal legend, Paul Merson has said that he would not be surprised if Manchester City catch the Gunners on the Premier League table.
Merson spoke after Arsenal’s Premier League 1-1 draw with Manchester United on Sunday.
Recall that goals from Bruno Fernandes and Declan Rice ensured both teams got a point each at Old Trafford.
The result leaves Mikel Arteta’s side in second position with 15 points behind leaders Liverpool on the log.
Behind Arsenal are Nottingham Forest, Chelsea and Manchester City completing the Premier League top five.
Speaking on Sky Sports, Merson admitted that Arsenal are suffering.
“Arsenal are suffering now and I think it’s a worry now until the end of the season,” Merson said.
“Look at the games, they have got to score goals and there are no goals in them.
“It’s started to get tight there and Man City have got some nice fixtures there and it wouldn’t surprise me if Man City, who are fifth at the moment, catch Arsenal.”
