EPL: Arteta defends strategy after using 43 formations against Man City

Arteta’s men beat Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace, but were held to a 2-2 draw at home to 10-man Fulham last week.

Those unconvincing performances have led some to question Arteta’s wisdom in tweaking his tactics for the new seasons.

The Spaniard has used Thomas Partey as a right-back and largely operates with a single midfield pivot.

When asked if he felt like reverting to last season’s approach for Sunday’s visit of Manchester United, Arteta said: “I played differently against Manchester City (in the Community Shield) and there were 43 different formations.”…… Continue Your Reading
