The disclosure was made by the former governor of Kaduna state while he was speaking at an event in Maiduguri, Borno state, according to LEADERSHIP.
El-Rufai said a governor from the Northwest who loved the way he conducted local government election in Kaduna state came to meet him for assistance. He said he told the governor that the electronic voting technology that was used would cost him $10,000. El-Rufai said after the governor heard the amount, he went back home and conducted his election by writing the results as usual.
The former governor of Kaduna state was quoted as saying;
“I remember that one governor from the Northwest who loved the conduct of the election through electronic voting asked me to assist him with the technology I used in the election, but because it has the state logo, I told him that it would not cost more than $10,000, so that he can get the equipment to conduct his state LGA election electronically. But after that conversation, I did not hear from him again, he went back home and conducted his election by writing the results as usual”.
