She was eventually rejected by her father and only had her mum by her side. The young lady strived against all odds and acquired skill.
She began to make money from her skill and saved up to build her mother a house herself. When she was interviewed, the hardworking lady said that it took her eight years to build the house.

3. Disabled Nigerian lady becomes a beauty queen
A very determined University of Lagos graduate, Rita Ofili, became a beauty queen and inspired netizens with her story. The Miss Wheelchair World Nigeria winner was not born disabled. She could stand on her feet and walk when she was still little.

Shona, 25, became critically ill in 2010 after she was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy, a group of diseases that cause progressive weakness and loss of muscle mass. The disease would later send Shona to a wheelchair. All efforts by her mother who sold all she had to cure the illness proved abortive despite being taken to many places. Shona, who is from Oyo state told her story to Legit.ng in an exclusive interview: “We have been to several hospitals to no avail and that was what hindered me from furthering my education since 2013 when I finished my secondary school because we were worried about how I would cope in school with my condition. I finally summoned courage and got admitted in 2020.”
