In a statement, according to reports by PREMIUM TIMES, NNPCL spokesperson Olufemi Soneye shared that Adedapo Segun, the Executive Vice President of Downstream Operations, revealed this during an appearance on TVC News’ “Journalists’ Hangout” show on Thursday.
Segun emphasized that NNPCL is anticipating the September 15 start date from the 650,000 barrels per day refinery based in Lagos. His comments come amid ongoing fuel shortages and recent price increases.
To address these issues, Segun mentioned that NNPCL is working with marketers to ensure fuel stations open early and close late to provide a steady supply for Nigerians. He also noted that the company is coordinating with relevant authorities to prevent product diversions and ensure timely deliveries to all stations.
“The shortage should improve in the next few days as more stations adjust and start operating,” he told Nigerians.
It’s worth noting that Dangote Refinery denied on Wednesday that NNPCL has begun lifting petrol from its facility. This clarification follows the recent announcement by Aliko Dangote, President of the Dangote Group, that his refinery has officially started production.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
