Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has revealed that a stomach bug has “probably” spread through his squad.
Maresca was speaking to the media today ahead of their UEFA Conference League last-16 second leg against FC Copenhagen.
He provided an update on Cole Palmer following a bout of diarrhoea.
Palmer played in the 1-0 win over Leicester City despite suffering from a fever and diarrhoea the day before.
The England midfielder went on to miss a penalty and extended his goalless run to eight league games.
Maresca has now confirmed that Palmer, Reece James, and Christopher Nkunku missed training on Tuesday due to illness but had already returned ahead of the crucial fixture, where they hold a narrow 2-1 advantage from the first leg.
He said: “Cole, Reece, and Christo (Nkunku), first session [today]. Yesterday, they weren’t here. They all had some problems. Today, they are all back and better.
“Probably, yes, I don’t know [illness in squad]. We’ll see tomorrow if we use some of them.”
