Chris Okaeben: The Same Police Is What Obaseki Used To Deny Us Inauguration As Members of Edo House

 

Chris Okaeben, a former member of the Edo State House of Assembly, has claimed that despite their legitimate election by 11 local government constituencies, Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki utilized the police to deny them their inauguration as members of the Assembly.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

He stated that the IGP who is being accused of being bias provides police protection for the governor in the government house. He argued that the PDP is displeased because they have a new Commissioner of Police who is refusing to be used. He identified that Edo state being the heartbeat of the Nation, there is a need for a proper security to ensure peace in the state.

He said in an interview with Channels TV, ”For us we are not surprised, it is the case of the hunter being hunted. The IG that the governor and his chairman called all manner of names yesterday is the same IG that sends police to guide Obaseki today in government house. The same police is what Obaseki used to deny us the inauguration as members of Edo State House of Assembly.

We were lawfully elected by the 11 local government of the 14 constituencies. That was the same police he has been using in the state against the opposition party. And now because there is a police officer who says I cannot be used, the governor is crying foul play. The governor was boasting that he is the Chief security officer of the state. And I’m not sure the CP was in any contention with him as regards that. The country is very tense and Edo state is a very peculiar state.
