She stated that the security situation has deteriorated significantly, noting that while terrorist activities were once confined to the northern regions, they have now spread to the south, resulting in widespread kidnapping across the country.
Bucknor-Akerele emphasized the urgent need for a complete overhaul of the country’s security apparatus to address these escalating threats.
She referred to the persistent belief among some that terrorists are holed up in Sambisa Forest, questioning why the military has not taken decisive action to eliminate them from that area.
She said, “Some people are saying that the terrorists are in Sambisa forest. Why can’t the army go into Sambisa forest and get rid of them. They know where the terrorists are. These terrorists are phoning people.
“Somebody is using phone, you can locate him wherever he is. Whenever I get to London, I get a welcome message on my phone saying, ‘Welcome to London.’
Bucknor-Akerele also drew attention to the fact that the terrorists appear to be able to communicate freely, even going so far as to phone people to demand ransom.
“So, how is it that terrorists can phone people and ask for ransom and the police and the military cannot trace them and deal with them?” She said.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
