Olusola Salako, a former chairman of the labour party in Lagos State, has recently criticized Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the party’s candidate for governor, saying he was drawn to him because of his physical appearance and gave him the governorship form without realizing he was concealing his behaviour to win the endorsement.
He claims that: “the kind of person that I am is not a money-centric person. I try to consider merit, whether the person deserves it or not. That was why I gave the form to Gbadebo for free.”….. CONTINUE READING
I saw him as a middle-aged man, got attracted to his youthful appearance, and he was also the youngest among the major contestants. Since we have the youths agitating and clamoring for a change in government due to the End Sars fallout, we decided to give him the ticket.
I got so attracted to him that I didn’t bother to know who he was, and you know, in politics, when people want something, they hide their character, they hide who they are, and that is what happened between me and Gbadebo. “Immediately after he got the party ticket, he began some unpleasant manifestations, and I couldn’t back out; he turned against me.”
