“My rejection of fascism is nothing new. On three occasions, I was able to send a message to Peter Obi that if he lost the election, it would be his followers who lost it for him.
“It was depressing to watch his lieutenant, a crucially positioned voice of a movement that has ‘broken the mould’, threaten the totality of social existence,” Soyinka was quoted as saying.
Reacting, some Nigerians have since taken to social media to knock the literary icon over the statement credited to him.

Wole Soyinka is among the privileged class so I don't expect him to say anything positive. He has never at any point in time been a voice to look up to in terms of speaking against the injustice going on in the country.
