The two governors who were prominent members of PDP Group of Five (G5 govs) that worked against the candidacy of Atiku Abubakar – presidential candidate of the party in the 25th February election, asked Nigerians to rally round Tinubu, saying the time for politics is over.

Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) defeated the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) to clinch the seat in the hotly-contested February poll.

Speaking with journalists after meeting with Tinubu at the Defence House, where the President-elect currently resides, Wike said that the time for politics is over and as such the incoming president needs the support of Nigerians. Continue Reading>>>

At the time of filing this report details of the closed-door meeting between the two governors and Tinubu were unavailable but a source said it might not be unconnected to the proposed cabinet of the President-elect.

PlatinumPost recalls that one of the spokespersons of Atiku, Daniel Bwala, had on Thursday stated that Wike has been penciled down as Minister of Interior in Tinubu’s cabinet.

Governor Mohammed Badaru Abubakar of Jigawa, Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara, former governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti, were among top APC chieftains that joined Tinubu to receive Wike and Makinde during the visit.
