The former governor of Akwa Ibom was re-elected as president of the 10th Senate after receiving 63 votes, defeating Senator Yari, who received 46 votes, according to Channels Television on its verified Twitter page today.

Senator Godswill Akpabio’s supporter Ali Ndume responded on Channels Television by saying, “He himself had phoned certain persons. The president sneaked out and pleaded with some individuals to support Akpabio. He has justifications. His arguments are compelling. Since the beginning, Tinubu has advocated for a South South senator to serve as Senate President because they haven’t done so since 1999.

The president (Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu) and the party both have a favoured candidate, he continued. This President played a lot of politics in it since he is an accomplished politician. He sent out his foot soldiers to aid in our endeavor. And that changed things. On it was the vice president.
