On the basis of that, Mr. Bashir Ahmad, a Chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and a former presidential adviser, chose to respond. Reacting, he called the Niger Republic Government’s move a flagrant violation of diplomatic protocol.
Mr. Bashir Ahmad responded to the report by disclosing this information in a post on his official X handle.
He wrote: According to a report by Daily Trust, despite the recent reopening of the Nigeria-Niger land and air borders by the Federal Government, the authorities in Niger have not yet responded to the development and also kept their entry points closed. Is this not a blatant disregard for diplomatic protocols by the Nigerien authority?”
