However, as per a report from Mundo Deportivo’s Gabriel Sans, manager Xavi Hernandez has handed over a list of seven players who are considered absolutely ‘untouchable’ to the Barcelona administration.
Marc-Andre ter Stegen is among the players considered as ‘non-transferable’ by manager Xavi. And it is hardly surprising considering the excellent season that the German international is enjoying, breaking goalkeeping record after goalkeeping record. CONTINUE READING>>>>>
Along with Ter Stegen, the centre-back duo of Ronald Araujo and Andreas Christensen is also given the ‘untouchable’ treatment at Spotify Camp Nou. In fact, reports even suggest that even though Barça signed the latter only last summer, they are already thinking of a contract renewal for him.
Frenkie de Jong, who was almost pushed out of the club in the summer window last year, has also attained the status of being non-transferable at Barça. The Dutchman has put in quality performances one after the other and is a key member of the team, although the club could hold talks with him over a salary reduction.
De Jong’s midfield partner Pedri is another superstar who is seen as untouchable within Barcelona. The 20-year-old is undoubtedly one of the most important pieces in Xavi’s system and he will not be allowed to leave at any price whatsoever.
Further forward in the pitch, it is Robert Lewandowski and Ousmane Dembele who are seen as non-transferable. Even though his form has declined in the second half of the season, Lewandowski’s quality and importance to the team remains unquestionable.
As for Dembele, the Frenchman is a favourite of Xavi and talks over a new contract for him also set to begin, given that his current deal expires next year.
Apart from these seven names, it would be fair to assume that Barcelona also see the trio of Gavi, Jules Kounde, and Alejandro Balde as key parts of the team moving forward and will not entertain any offers for them either this summer.
