He emphasized the bandits’ accessibility by pointing out that reporters have also been able to get in touch with them. He disclosed the manner in which the former administration successfully negotiated with outlaws to get the liberation of the Kaduna rail casualties.
He said in an interview with Arise TV, ”When the train attack happened, a committee was set by the military then in the former government. And they were able to contact them. Journalists have been able to contact these bandits, they are not so difficult to contact. We don’t even know their foot soldiers. We need a program just like the Niger Delta program to bring them out of the forest.
We do that with the premise of educating them, giving them health care, and giving them a peaceful life. This is how you entice people to avoid violence and militancy. But when you continue dropping bombs, in fact, petroleum bombs kill Children and Women. So they will find no sympathy or empathy for our own Children. It’s an eye for an eye.
