The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has announced that Imo State would hold its governorship election on November 11, 2023, along with Bayelsa and Kogi States. Athan Achonu of the Labour Party will run against the state’s current governor, Hope Uzodimma of the All Progressives Congress.
According to The Nation Newspaper, Peter Obi claimed that the Labour Party is renowned for performance and excellence while speaking in Owerri, the state capital, on Tuesday, August 22 (Today), during the flag-off of the party’s campaign in the state.
“Abure is the national chairman of our party,” he declared. There isn’t another chairman here. Imo State will go to LP. The single candidate for the party is Imo State’s top candidate, Athan Achonu. I’m glad the procedure hasn’t been altered. I have faith in the procedure.
“LP wants to change Nigeria,” he continued. We are requesting the chance from Nigeria. Give Nigerians a chance, and things will change. There is hope for Abia State right now because of governance.
“We want Nigeria to have leaders who will practice what they preach,” he said. We are aware of what Nigeria needs to improve. We are here for that reason. We are aware of what it takes to alter Imo. There is hope that governance will improve in Abia today.…… Continue Your Reading
