Alex Otti joined the Labour Party as it became clear that the APC would not provide him a ticket to run for governor - Ikoku

Mary Ikoku, an APC member in Imo State, revealed that the lack of internal democracy is a characteristic shared by the majority of political parties in Nigeria.

According to Mary Ikoku, Alex Otti joined the Labour Party, where he won the ticket, after realizing that he had little chance of winning the APC’s gubernatorial primary.

Mary Ikoku indicated that she had to file a lawsuit against the APC’s primary election procedures because she believed they were not free and fair.

Mary Ikoku continued by saying that because of their shared past, she contacted Alex Otti in the Labour Party when she was unable to secure her APC ticket in Abia State.
