While reacting, Mr Uzoukwu noted that they applied to the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal, to have live streaming of all the court proceedings, but the court in its wisdom refused to grant the application, noting that now in the end, the court saw wisdom in it for the sake of transparency.
According to Punch Newspaper report, Mr Livy Uzoukwu made this disclosure when he was addressing journalists, shortly after the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal, affirmed the election that produced Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the country’s President. He went further and commended the court of appeal for introducing live streaming of court proceedings.
Mr Uzoukwu said: “I commend the court of appeal for introducing live streaming. We applied to the court to have live streaming of all the court proceedings, the court in its wisdom didn’t grant the application. But now at the end, they saw wisdom in it to guarantee transparency.”
Furthermore, Mr Uzoukwu made it known that it would have been better if there was live streaming of the entire court proceedings, so that the members of the public will watch it from the beginning till the end, and connect properly with the Judgment.
In addition, he noted that he is hoping that next time, the live streaming will start from the beginning of the hearing till the end, noting that it will be the only way to ensure transparency. CONTINUE READING>>>>>
