The governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has said that Magnus Abe, the Social Democratic Party’s nominee for governor, was never a serious candidate in the recently held election.

“The electoral fate of the SDP candidate, Senator Magnus Abe, was not even better. He lost woefully in 15 out of 17 wards in his native local government area. He lost in all 23 local governments in the state, his party did not even win a single state constituency. Magnus only ambition was to have a chance to be named on the ballot as a gubernatorial candidate. He achieved this limited and useless ambition when he hurriedly decamped from the APC to the SDP. This party never existed In Rivers State.”…
