If the APC gets away with this, I’ll need thugs and weapons to become governor, says Gbadebo
The Labour Party’s Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivor, who lost to APC’s Sanwo-Olu in the recently conducted Lagos State Guber election, recently held a news conference. Rhodes-Vivor was the Labour Party’s nominee for governor of Lagos State.
He addressed queries from the media regarding how he intended to file a legal challenge to the election results. APC was accused by him of deploying thugs and violence to intimidate those who wished to support other political parties, including Yorubas as well as Igbos, and he said that his campaign brought out a new class of voters who could not be bought….. In response to a query, he stated that if the APC is allowed to get away with what they did in Lagos, he would need militants armed with firearms and other weapons if he wanted to win the next election and become governor.
The APC government was criticized by Gbadebo for remaining silent while voters were intimidated during the election since it was in their favor. It simply means that if I want to run for governor of Lagos, I must have a militant organization with weapons.
He stated:
“Nobody is going to get away with this. This is not our Gbadebo anymore, the moment these people get away with this, any further election in Lagos State is war. It just means that if I want to be governor of Lagos, I have to have a militant group, I have to have guns.”…… Read more
