Bishop Oyedepo described how hired assassins once invaded his home, turning it into what he likened to a war zone. “Rapid fire of gunshots—’Make una gun am down! Make una gun am down!’ I was hearing the announcement to gun me down, yet they couldn’t see me,” he shared, attributing his survival to divine protection. This, he explained, is a form of “fiery furnace”—narrow escapes and miraculous survival in the face of death.

According to him, “Nobody went through fiery furnace, let’s tell the truth. It is impossible and I can swear. Fiery furnace? All these are just make believe stuff. There are many of us who have gone through fiery furnace. Not of fire, fiery furnace of heavy weight challenges. That consumes others and yet you smile your way through.”
