Aston Villa lost 2-1 at The City Ground on Saturday night, their first loss in four games, thanks to a late comeback from Nottingham Forest. Prior to Villa taking the lead through Jhon Durán shortly after the hour, the game was largely unremarkable.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

The striker netted his 11th goal of the season, heading in a cross from John McGinn. However, Forest quickly found their rhythm and launched a determined comeback.

Villa had a few opportunities early in the second half, with McGinn’s corner finding Durán for a volley that hit the roof of the net.

However, it was Forest’s pressure that told in the final stages. Despite Villa goalkeeper Emi Martínez’s earlier heroics, including a stunning save to deny Nicolas Domínguez, the hosts leveled the score late in the match.

In the 87th minute, Nikola Milenkovic headed home from a recycled corner to equalize for Forest.

Villa’s defense was then undone in the dying seconds when Anthony Elanga pounced on a loose ball in the box, scoring the decisive goal in the third minute of added time.

Villa had started strong, with Matty Cash testing Forest keeper Matz Sels in the first half, but a late surge from Forest handed Villa their first loss since early November.
