Farotimi On Davido’s Comments. “1001 Pastors And Imams But It Requires Omo Baba Olowo To Tell The Truth”

 

Human rights attorney and former Obi/Datti Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) spokesperson Dele Farotimi recently responded to remarks made by Nigerian rapper Davido on the American podcast Big Homies House via his official X account.In the podcast, Davido cautioned Americans against moving to Africa, especially Nigeria, because of the continent’s faltering economy.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

“The country’s economy is in shambles,” he said.

His statements brought criticism from supporters of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, followed by threats to cancel his planned December show in Nigeria.

In response to the controversy, Farotimi commented and praised Davido for speaking the truth about Nigeria’s economic condition, while criticizing religious and societal leaders for their silence.

 

 

“1001 pastors and imams. Daddies GOs and Metropolitans nko? But it requires ‘Omo baba olowo,’ a secular musician, to tell the truth of our sorry state. It is impossible to shame the shameless,” Farotimi wrote.Farotimi’s statement highlighted his frustration with Nigeria’s leadership and influential figures.
