The suspension follows an incident on Saturday night when the governor visited the Ministry of Health and reportedly caught six officials in the act of diverting government materials.

The decision to suspend the two commissioners was made during a State Executive Council meeting in Abakaliki, the state capital, on Monday, November 25.

This was confirmed in a statement by Commissioner for Information and State Orientation, Jude Okpor, on Tuesday.

“Following cases of gross misconduct and dereliction of duties by some government officials and matters related thereto, the Chairman of Council directed the indefinite suspension of the Honourable Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development and three months suspension of the Honourable Commissioner for Health respectively,” the statement said.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
