According to Vanguard, NNPCL announced the commencement of product truck-out at 1:43 PM, signaling the beginning of crude oil processing at the refinery.

Olufemi Sonoye, NNPCL’s Chief Corporate Communications Officer, confirmed that the start of operations at the Port Harcourt Refinery is a monumental achievement for Nigeria, marking a new era of energy independence and economic growth.

This development is a critical step in Nigeria’s effort to address its ongoing fuel supply challenges.

Mele Kyari, the Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPCL, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to improving the nation’s refining capacity.

 

 

He emphasized that NNPCL is focused on rehabilitating its refineries and other investments, aiming to make Nigeria a net exporter of petroleum products by the end of 2024.
