In an interview with The Punch, Ruth Ogunleye, a former soldier, described her terrifying experience of being the victim of an alleged sexual assault by her superior at the Nigerian Army Cantonment Medical Centre in Ojo, Lagos State.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

She stated that the incident occurred in 2022 while she was serving in the Medical Corps at the Nigerian Army Cantonment Medical Center in Ojo, Lagos State, while she was recounting the story of the sexual assault. The victim claims that the unit’s commanding officer at the time was a Colonel (name withheld), and that after only three weeks, he began bringing her presents, which she declined to accept on the grounds that they were inappropriate.

She said, “On February 27, 2022, he called and summoned me to meet him at the Eagleston Hotel by 5pm. When I arrived, he said he wanted to have sex with me.”

Further talking, she said, “He offered me N50,000 to do that and even promised to help me get admitted into a military school.

I refused, reminding him that it was against the Nigerian Army’s code of conduct for superiors to engage in sexual relations with subordinates.”

Ruth alleged after the encounter, her former boss became vengeful, and started treating her unfairly, assigning extra duties and imposing unjust punishments. Later, he began injecting her with Largactil, a drug usually given to mentally ill patients to sedate them.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
