Father Oluoma “Stop Spending All Your Time Praying & Kabashing, Thinking You Are Doing God A Favour

Recently, a post on his official Facebook page provoked discussion about Reverend Father John Chinenye Oluoma, a Catholic priest from Abuja. Father Oluoma recalled how he once believed that spending more time in church and prayer was a mark of piety. However, he now encourages believers to reconsider this mindset. “God doesn’t need more of your time; He needs your heart,” Oluoma emphasized, pointing out that many Christians prioritize religious activities over their families, careers, and personal well-being.

He argued that attending numerous church programs or praying for extended periods does not necessarily mean one is more favored by God. “Stop spending all your time praying and kabashing, thinking you are doing yourself or God a favor,” he wrote. Instead, Oluoma urged his followers to give God their hearts, stressing that a heart yielded to God is far more valuable than lengthy prayers.

Referencing biblical examples, he cited King David, described as a man after God’s own heart, noting that it wasn’t David’s constant prayers that earned him this title, but rather the condition of his heart. Father Oluoma also reminded Christians that while Jesus prayed all night, His mission was to save the world, a far different role than most believers’ daily lives.

In conclusion, Father Oluoma urged Christians to stop “duplicating, multiplying, and exaggerating times of pieties.” He highlighted that true connection with God comes from the heart, not endless hours in prayer. His message serves as a call to balance spirituality with other important aspects of life.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
