“Even when I leave the world, nobody is ever permitted to rename Covenant or Landmark University. They are named by God,” a report on ChurchGist quoted one of the nation’s most celebrated pastors.

The two universities were founded by the Living Faith Church Worldwide.

The Senior Pastor at the ministry, with a network of churches across the globe, informally known as Winners Chapel, made the declaration in the course of activities leading to his 70th birthday.

“Nobody is interested in what you have but what you add,” the planter of over 500 Winners Chapel branches in Nigeria, with outreaches located in cities across 45 African nations and presence in the United States of America (USA), United Arab Emirates (UAE), Europe, United Kingdom (UK), Canada, and Asia, reportedly added.

He is the Chancellor of Landmark and Covenant Universities.

Also declaring that “I’m glad I’ve not wasted my life,” the preacher, widely regarded as one of the most influential spiritual exports from Nigeria and featured on Forbes Rich List (2011) as the richest pastor in the country, also decreed, “Don’t ever call me an icon,” because “I’m representing Jesus, the Icon.”
