Olabisi Onabanjo University philosophy student Ayomide Adeleye, 23, has admitted to killing his churchmate Christiana Idowu, 18, in Ikorodu, Lagos. Adeleye made the startling revelation that he choked Idowu during a desperate attempt at robbery. After the murder, he placed her body in a chair and contacted her mother, demanding a ransom of N360,000, claiming she had been kidnapped.
He later buried Idowu’s body in a shallow grave behind his house.
According to Vanguard, Adeleye was apprehended by soldiers who traced him through his betting account linked to his National Identification Number.
He expressed remorse for his actions, acknowledging the pain inflicted on both families.
